Today the reality of what we are doing is sinking in. Lauren drank about 4 oz of the first shake last night but has refused everything since then. This morning she woke up very lethargic and her blood sugar was really low. It was very difficult to wake her up after her EEG this morning. They gave her 1 0z of OJ and after a couple of hours she became more responsive-but she will not drink any of the high fat shake they want to start her out on. A couple of the other kids have been throwing up because it is such a shock to their systems. So at least we have not had to deal with that yet! She has no energy to do anything and has been sleeping most of the day. You would think after being so hungry that she would eat anything. It shows you how stubborn Lauren can be. They keep telling me that eventually she will get so hungry she will eat. It is very difficult to see her so hungry and not give her anything. I hope that she will start drinking the shake soon. Marc and I have started the classes and it seems very overwhelming!!!!

I am sorry it is so hard. I sent you an email. I hope and pray she starts eating soon.
I just got an email from Kristina Weeks. I didn't know her brother has epilepsy. She expressed how difficult it was. She may come and see you since she works there.
You are in our prayers as always. Love you, MOM

I'm so glad you sent me the blog site before you left! I have checked it everyday--usually several times a day.
I showed the kids at school the site and talked to them more about epilepsy. They really care about Lauren and hope she feels better soon. In fact, she is usually mentioned in our lunch prayer. Megan and Katie have especially enjoyed seeing the pictures and watching the videos.
We all miss you and will continue to pray for you!
Love, "Miss" Cristina
