Lauren is still doing amazing! Almost 9 month of no seizures! She just finished up Pre-school and will be going to the Special Needs Kindergarten in the fall. With school out we are increasing her therapy but she still has some time to enjoy summer.
Below is a video I put together going through these past few years. This song has always touched me, so I wanted to use it to tell Lauren's story. Just a little warning, there are some videos of her having seizures in it(in case you don't want to see that).

I wanted to watch this despite the warning you thoughtfully included. I was so traumatized by Jade's seizures, I never wanted to record them. I deliberately did not to take pictures after she'd get injured from a drop seizure, and we never tried to film a seizure. It seemed too awful to record it.
Now I wish I had, because this kind of record would be so valuable to share with Jade's kindergarten teachers to show just why we are so very, very strict about Jade's diet.
Watching that Lauren's myoclonic jerk started the tears, but the drop seizure had me bawling. The zoned-out, drugged-up zombie shell of a child... that was Jade.
There's a special place in my heart for both you and Lauren, Tami. When Lauren's seizures continued after Jade's disappeared, my heart broke for you every time you posted. I can't tell you how overjoyed I am that Lauren has been seizure-free for 9 months now.
Thank you so much for sharing this video, for all the pictures of your beautiful girl, for her story, an the beautiful gift of hope and faith.

I was doing OK until the drop seizure. God, I hated those. Like Fawn, I now wish we had recorded Jade's so we could show people what it was like. Thank you for posting this.
I'm hoping for all of you that 9 months of seizure-freedom becomes becomes 90 years (or more).
We are so happy for the miracle that Lauren is, and the example of faith and hope you guys are. The video was so touching. We can't wait to see you all next week. We love you!!

This video is so powerful and captures the severity of epilepsy. It was heart wrenching to watch another chill struggle the same as my own. I've noticed that it can no longer be viewed due to copyright issues. Even without the song, it is still powerful. Would you consider posting it again? I found it a powerful visual to those who just done understand the realities of Doose.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Dr Williams for everything he have done in my life. I have been in tears for so many years now, having found that my only son is suffering from seizure, lesion after some years of being under extreme stress., .
