Lauren, Tami and I made it Johns Hopkins this morning at 8am. Lauren has had a pretty bad day with her seizures -- lots of drops. This may be because she has not been taking her medications very well since Saturday, or it just may be a bad day. When she is not having seizures she has been her happy self. We began the day with the dietician and Dr. Rubenstein. We met in a conference room with the three other families and children also starting the diet. They start four at a time on the diet. After this meeting, the doctor took time to meet with each child and family to discuss their situation and medications. These events were in the outpatient area of the hospital. We then checked into the main hospital and were assigned to our rooms. We share a room with another family. We then were kind of free to explore the hospital until the meal at 5-6pm. Lauren watched a movie and spent some time playing in an area on one of the roofs of the hospital. These are some of the pictures. The video is of her drinking the first meal - formula shake. She drank it pretty well.
